Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will you share or publish my photos?
A: Only if you let us! Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us! Your photos will never be shared, sold or displayed without prior written consent. Your information, identity and image is kept strictly confidential. In fact, Broken Halo Photography does all of the editing of your photos in-house (meaning your images are not sent somewhere for editing) so images are only seen by you and the photographer, until you give them, show them or release them for promotional use.
Certainly, we'd love to showcase the lovely work we do through your stunning images, but allowing us to publish your photos is completely up to you!
Q: Do you "Photoshop" photos?
A: We do edit every photograph with editing software, however we believe in maintaining and preserving your likeness as much as possible. A typical edit will consist of blemish removal (acne, stretch marks, scars, etc.) lighting and color correction as necessary and stylized editing (such as Black and White edits, Sepia, Etc.). We DO NOT: Add or enhance the size of breasts, remove or reshape body parts, eliminate excess body fat, enhance or edit thigh gap, legs, etc. We believe your body is beautiful, and in our editing we believe in preserving the original image, the who you are, as much as possible.
Q: Do you have lingerie I can wear?
A: For hygienic reasons, Broken Halo Photography does not provide lingerie for use during your session. At the moment You'll need to bring your own unmentionables for your session. However, we've recently started carrying Victoria's Secret hosiery for purchase during your boudoir session.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Part of your session experience is consultation both prior to, and during your session. I'll help you put together sets of clothing to help flatter your body and/or create a mood you may desire. The general rule is: to bring with you items of clothing that make you feel sexy! Lingerie, a favorite casual shirt or sweater, your favorite team jersey, your favorite pair of jeans or cutoff shorts... Anything that makes YOU feel sexy! To help you with what to bring, we employ Pinterest and Polyvore to assist in creating example clothing sets, as well as consult with you to help you determine what to bring for your experience. A smile is the sexiest thing you could wear!
Q: I'm not a model, and I haven't done this before...
A: While Boudoir Photography is gaining in popularity, not many have! You're not alone, but it's my job to help guide you through poses that flatter, emotion that translates well to photographs and to help you have a relaxing, fun, and liberating experience!
Q: I just need to lose XX pounds and then I'll be ready for my session.
A: There is no time like the present to have beautiful photos of yourself taken by Broken Halo Photography! Love your body the way it is! You could have another session if you lose some weight at a later date, but we believe every person is beautiful just the way they are.
Q: Do you photograph men or couples?
A: Broken Halo Photography doesn't discriminate! We photograph men, women and couples of any sexual preference. We are an equal opportunity photography studio.
Q: Do you, or can you photograph me nude?
A: We can photograph you nude if you so desire, but you are not expected to pose in the nude, nor are you pressured to disrobe beyond your comfort level. I have had clients express "No Nudes" during the pre-consultation meeting and determined they comfortable enough during the session to disrobe, and that's absolutely fine! I encourage my clients to express themselves in the way that is most comfortable to them, knowing they are in a safe, non-judgmental setting.
Q: Can I bring someone with me to my shoot?
A: Yes, you may; However over years of photographing men, and women, having someone else on set restricted their ability to relax and be as candid and uninhibited as they may have wanted to be. Typical sessions are one on one.
Q: Other photographers offer mini sessions at a lower price - do you?
A: It has been my experience over the years that it takes no less than 20 minutes for a client to get into her groove, and really feel comfortable being photographed in lingerie or less. Often, some of the best photos happen in the last 15 minutes of the session. For these reasons, we feel a 2 hour session is the minimum time necessary to capture as many looks as possible to insure a wide selection of photos for the client to choose from for editing.
Q: Do you have payment options?
A: Yes! We've teamed up with Square and accept credit card payments in full, or we can set up a payment plan that can help you afford the session and photos you will love and deserve!
Q: Why boudoir photos?
A: Why not? My clients have repeatedly exclaimed "I feel sooo great! I feel sexy, and it was a liberating experience". Boudoir photos are a great way to boost your ego, to raise your self esteem, to enhance your desirability, to show off your sensuality and to feel good about yourself! We are in the business of empowering women through beautifully sexy and sensual photos. You DESERVE sexy photos of and FOR yourself!
